Black Seal

Hehe. Black seal. Funny. Here you have both. I've been curious about this rum, I see it quite often. When tasting it, I felt the whole time that this was pálinka. If it were that and not rum, I would say I would only drink this pálinka. What's my problem with that? I don't like pálinka.

Origin: Bermudas
Alcohol content: 40% v/v
Age: 3 years
Sugar content: 10-12 g/l (ALKO/SYSTEMBOLAGET)

Color: mahogany

Nose: plum, alcohol, mint, anise, herbal tea, cinnamon, orange, licorice

Palate: sponge cake, honey, sweet tobacco

Aftertaste: long

The aroma of the glass when empty: citrus, licorice

We like its colour

In the beginning, the aroma is dominated by plums: fresh plum, dried plum and plum jam. Later, it turns herbal, sometimes with a slight spicy touch. At the first sip, the alcohol is quite strong, with only a sweet taste coming through. It reminds me of plum pálinka, but its aroma also reminds me of licorice. On the exhale, it is pleasantly raspberry. Because of this, the - raspberry - pálinka flavor comes in my mind again. The alcohol is very strong, it doesn't blend in with the flavors, it was quite disturbing, it was too much. It somehow took everything away, and that's not why I sat down today (this "today" was a year ago). Based on the aroma, I expected much more, I find it quite flat. Unfortunately, for me, it's nothing more than a very delicious pálinka. It would taste great as a pálinka, but I think it's average for a rum. It's not bad, but I think I wouldn't buy a bottle of it. However, I'm curious about their overproof.

⭐⭐

I tasted it - the rest is up to you
