Dos Maderas 5+5 PX

I didn't have high expectations for this ̶r̶u̶m̶ alcoholic beverage, the price seemed low compared to the 5+5 years of aging (I don't mean the tasting amount). I thought that even keeping it in a barrel for 10 years would only produce something ordinary for that price. Then its smell and taste immediately convinced me how wrong I was.

Origin: n/a
Alcohol content: 40% v/v
Age: 10 years
Sugar content: 37-39 g/l (SYSTEMBOLAGET)

Palate: sweet, cookies, honey, dessert wine, milk chocolate, dried apricots, caramel, latte, coke

Aftertaste: long

The aroma of the glass when empty: coke, port and dessert wines

Look at the label, it's not rum but spirit drink

Even at first smell, I'm overwhelmed by the aroma, I can barely list it, the associations come so quickly. And the aroma has everything that stimulates the nose and mouth. I smelled it a lot, but then I couldn't wait any longer, I had to taste it. The taste is very pleasant to me, reminiscent of dessert wines, quite sweet. It's a bit strange, but perhaps the best way to describe it is that it's creamy. Towards the end, coke appears in both the aroma and the taste (probably caused by the caramel). The alcohol is very nicely hidden in the sip. If I chew it enough, I can barely feel it. For me, this causes the danger of having to pour another portion, it tastes so good. However, in terms of alcohol content, it's not wine, so it's good to be careful with it. I don't usually mention viscosity, but here the legs grow even after many minutes (this is the Gibbs-Marangoni effect, maybe I'll write about it someday), so this rum, sorry, alcoholic beverage, really spent a pleasant time in the barrel. I had only looked at it before, but I will definitely buy a whole bottle - partly to lure non-rum drinkers with it, and partly because it tasted so good.

⭐⭐⭐

I tasted it - you should taste it too!
