I was hesitant to try Pusser's flagship (pardon the pun). In a sailing-related Facebook group, someone shared a picture of the blue label edition in honor of Black Tot Day 2023, and about half as many people wrote about how much they hated it as they loved it. I ended up buying my second bottle within a short time.

Aging time: n/a (blend)

The aroma of the glass when empty: raisins, old wood

Pusser's Original Admiralty rum is a mixture based on a recipe from the British Navy, so the experience should be very close to what the crews of British warships were used to for a long time until the summer of 1970 (there is a book on this subject, Nelson's blood, I plan to write a review of it). First of all, according to the label, this rum is from Guyana, meaning the raw material is demerara. You can feel it in the aroma and taste (it helpful if someone knows what demerara sugar tastes and smells like). In the first sip, in addition to the good dose of alcohol, I feel other sweet flavors, which are slightly spicy, sometimes slightly fruity (there is indeed freshly peeled and diced carrots hidden there). Then in the second sip, this great dose of alcohol remains. And in all the others. This is usually annoying for me, but in this rum it complements the flavors perfectly. This rum is quite round, with a good body, it's a pleasure to watch it growing legs one after another. It's my favorite sipping rum, but it also goes really well in cocktails. I've made a mistake with this, I got so used to Pusser's mixing into everything that I even got Blue Hawaii with it once (but I'll write about that another time). However, last year in the first half of the summer I made so many Painkillers (more on that later) that the first bottle was quickly run out. I had to buy another one quickly. If you'd like to try it, you can get it in a half dl package and it also has a mini bottle made of glass (another plus point for me).

I tasted it - you should taste it too!
